Awareness Through Movement Classes
An Awareness Through Movement (ATM) class is a verbally guided group experience where you explore gentle movements, typically while lying on mats on the floor. The practitioner provides clear, spoken directions that invite you to try different movement variations at your own pace and comfort level.
The lessons involve simple, everyday actions like reaching, rolling, breathing, or shifting weight, but done with unusual attention to how you move rather than what you achieve. You're encouraged to move slowly and notice differences in effort, comfort, and quality. There's no "right" way to do the movements – the learning happens through your own discoveries.
Classes are suitable for all abilities since you move entirely within your comfort range and can rest whenever needed. You remain fully clothed throughout, and props like pillows or blankets can be used for support.
By the end of class, most people feel more relaxed, grounded, and aware of their body. The improved coordination and ease you discover often carries into daily activities, helping you move through life with less effort and greater comfort.

Functional Integration Lessons
A Functional Integration lesson is a personalised, one-on-one session where you remain fully clothed on a comfortable table. Your practitioner uses gentle, precise touch and movement to guide you through explorations that offer your nervous system new movement possibilities. The touch is never forceful – it's more like a conversation between their hands and your body.
The practitioner observes how you naturally move and feels for areas of restriction or unnecessary effort, then offers alternatives through slow, comfortable movements. You're encouraged to notice what you're sensing throughout the process.
Most people leave feeling lighter, more grounded, and moving with greater ease. The benefits often extend into daily activities like walking, sitting, and breathing, with each session building on the previous ones to expand your movement choices and body awareness.
At the London Feldenkrais Collective, we work with a community-focused approach where several practitioners share the space. This has proven extremely generative and can provide a nurturing creative space for all participants visiting us.

An Advanced Training to reflect on your practice and support your confidence
As practitioners, we are often aware of the potential of our work and the benefits it brings to our clients. However, we may be less sure about our own abilities and effectiveness, and this can dent our confidence. In this Advanced Training, we will reflect on and build upon what we already know and can do to support our growing professional skills and confidence.
We will explore how to create meaningful and longer-lasting Functional Integration lessons for our clients. In part by learning more FI techniques but also by looking at ways to frame and contextualise lessons that help our clients to make more sense of their sensory-motor experience and their somatic learning.
We will ask questions like "How do we relate what we do with our hands to the person's request and situation in life?" or "Are there ways we can communicate our approach to learning that facilitates our client’s understanding of an FI?"
I endeavour to teach this day in a collaborative way so that we can all learn from and with each other. The day will include some theory, ATM, FI and small group discussions.
